The club will now sign legal agreements with the council before starting work on the new home, complete with an athletics stadium, hotel, health-and-fitness complex and shops. The plans could see the team's current ground turned over to housing.

The proposals see the new stadium offering 30,000 seats in two tiers, with a third tier raising capacity to 60,000 to be added later. The ground will be just a short walk from the 72,500-seat Millennium Stadium.
