TRAVEL ADVICE FOR FANS - 06 APRIL, F.A. CUP SEMI FINAL
Alcohol Free
All rail services from the 0755 departure from Cardiff and 0829 departure from Swansea up to the 0929 departure (inclusive) from Swansea are DRY trains. All return services from Paddington to South Wales starting with the 1930 Paddington to Swansea to the 2130 Paddington to Swansea departure (inclusive) are also DRY trains. All customers intending to travel on any of these services must not attempt to carry any alcohol on to these services.
Boarding Controls
To minimise the risk of overcrowding, boarding controls will be in operation at Cardiff Central and for the return journeys at Paddington. Queuing arrangements will be in place at both Cardiff Central and Paddington and customers will be allowed to board trains on a "first come first served" basis. We are expecting our services to be extremely busy and consequently we cannot guarantee that all customers will be able to catch the train of their choice, and they may have to be re-directed to a later service. The last departure from Paddington for South Wales is the 2130 departure and all customers are advised to stagger their return journeys so that we do not have servere overcrowding on this train, which may result in some customers being unable to board this last departure.
All customers are advised that should the match require extra time and / or penalties, we are unable to change train departure times or hold trains.
Engineering Works
Due to engineering works, timetables may be subject to change. Therefore, customers are advised to check all journey details shortly before travel. Alterations to services can be clarified by contacting The National Rail Enquiries Service on: 08457 484950 or www.nationalrail.co.uk
London Underground strike
Although the industrial action begins at 6.30pm, this means that members due to start work on or after that time will not be coming in. Members already at work will work until the end of their shift. This means that the action builds up slowly and there will be very little disruption in the first few hours. The main impact will come on Monday morning. Therefore Cardiff and Barnsley fans should not experience too many problems getting back to the mainline stations. Every attempt is currently being made to resolve the dispute before then.
Arrangements After the Match
Arriva Train Wales have asked us to remind customers that the last train to Treherbert is the 2206 from Cardiff Central, and Barry Island is 2225 from Cardiff Central, anyone travelling to destinations on the Valley Line network should check their journeys carefully as no additional services will operate outside of the advertised timetables on these routes.
