A Wales Under-19 International, Darcy progressed through Cardiff City's Academy to establish a regular reserve-team place. He made his first-team debut as substitute in mid-April 2006 when he came on at Crewe. After several substitute appearances last season (2006/07), he made his first Bluebirds Championship start at west Bromwich Albion in mid-February 2007.
