CITY 2 - 1 PORTUGAL XI
The Bluebirds got their pre-season tour off to a comfortable win against a Portugal select eleven.
Dave Jones played two teams through the game and the City scored a goal in each half. The impressive Matt Green was a threat to the opposition all game and capped a fine performance with a goal in the second half.

The first half started well for the Bluebirds with some incisive raids into the Portuguese final third and a number of chances were created.
It took a wonder strike from the Cypriot international Costa Charalambides from 30 yards past a helpless select eleven keeper.
The temperature took its toll as the heat of the late afternoon dictated the pace of the game, but it was always City who looked the team.
The teenage partnership in the middle of the park showed what a bright future this club has with Ramsey and Blake pulling all the strings in a finely tuned orchestra.
If it wasn't for some shall we say "strange" referee decisions the score line could have been a lot more.
Overall the Bluebirds will be happy with the performances all over the park. It was a good work out and the first real steps to being ready come August 11th.
We can now all look forward to the next game on the tour on Saturday when we take on Vitoria Setubal kick off 10.30am.
A special mention and thank you has to go to the 500 plus City fans who turned up to the game. Thank you and see you Saturday.
