Clarets boss Owen Coyle is looking for his Burnley players to finish the 2007/08 season on a high note, starting this Saturday in their final home game of the year.

"We've already accumulated our best points total for six years, so there are plenty of positives to take from this season," he told the Official Burnley website.

"That's the way we aim to continue. We want to take that points total on and we've set ourselves targets to surpass. Now, we are just looking for two big performances."

"The Cardiff players will be doing their upmost to make sure that they play in that FA Cup final. We know we are for in a tough game and they were very unfortunate to lose at Wolves in mid-week.

"All credit to Cardiff, they are a very good footballing side and it's a big boost for the Championship with them being in the final. It just shows the undoubted quality within the league and that's probably a compliment to ourselves too. So, if we can finish high up in the Championship it all bodes well for the future of the club."

Burnley are looking to build on their victory over Southampton last Saturday following some indifferent form, facing a Cardiff side who have slipped recently to two consecutive defeats on the road.

But the priority for Coyle is to simply set his stall out for three points as a means to thank the supporters at Turf Moor.

"The supporters have been fantastic and very vocal getting behind the team," proclaimed Coyle. "They have given us some tremendous backing and the players have responded to that.

"Statistically this year we are the 20th best supported team in the Championship, so there are obviously a lot bigger budgets out there than ours. We want to go out on a high by winning both games and rewarding our fans. We want to push ourselves up the league and accumulate as many points as we can."
