RIDSDALE: WE'LL FOLLOW PROTOCOL
Peter Ridsdale on Wednesday has spoken to Terry Phillips of the Western Mail on Cardiff City's stance concerning the playing of anthems at Wembley for the FA Cup final.
Debate has broken out following the views made by Welsh Sports Minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas, where he was adamant that the Welsh anthem should be included in the pre-match ceremony.
But Ridsdale maintains that the club should follow the protocol as directed by the governing body and that to ask for special privileges would be inappropriate.
He said, "The FA Cup final is played under the auspices of the Football Association. We are proud and privileged to be there at Wembley and we will follow the protocol of the occasion, as teams do at every cup final.
"We will not be making any representations to the FA. Anything they deem is appropriate at the FA Cup final is under their jurisdiction. Our hope is that we will win the FA Cup and be put forward to the Uefa Cup for next season."
