JOE'S BUZZING AFTER HISTORIC WIN
Joe Ledley didn't need a coach ride back to Cardiff after scoring the FA Cup semi-final winner at Wembley on Sunday. He pretty much flew home, such was the mood of our local hero as the euphoria from the 33,000 City fans was clearly shared by the squad.
"This definitely has to be the best day of my career and a great experience," he said after the match to the assembled media.
"Reaching the FA Cup final is every boy's dream. When I was a fan, I never dreamed this would happen. I wouldn't have thought I'd be playing in an FA Cup final at Wembley, that's for sure.
"It's a great moment for us and now we're just going to go to the final and try to do exactly the same as we did against Barnsley. We're the underdogs and they're Premiership quality, but, hopefully, we can just keep doing what we're doing.
"I'm confident we can produce another shock. If we play like we did against Barnsley, there's every chance we will.
"It's a bit of a shock we have reached the final and, if you asked people if they thought Cardiff would do it, they would all have said no. But we've proved a lot of people wrong and we play good football so we do deserve it.
"As a Cardiff boy, it's brilliant to win at Wembley for this club. The fans were great out there and hopefully they will be proud of me.A Cardiff boy scoring for them at Wembley, you can't ask for more than that really. Hopefully, they will be buzzing like we are and everybody will get another chance to come back to a great stadium.
"Now we're going to the final and, while it's a surprise, we deserved it. I thought we were the better team and we earned the victory."
