Athletic Stadium demolition and Football Stadium construction is underway

With immediate effect there will be no access to the main Car Park adjacent to Ninian Park (previously entered from Leckwith Rd) for fans without season permits.

As part of the traffic management plan provisions have been made for vehicles to use parking facilities at Fitzalan High School (on Lawrenny Avenue) and at the Bessemer Rd fruit Market site and details are as follows.

For Weekend Afternoon Kick Off - Car Parking will be available at Bessemer Rd Market,Bessemer Rd, CF11 8BE and Fitzalan High School, Lawrenny Avenue CF11 8XB.

For Weekend Morning / Lunchtime Kick Offs - Currently at Fitzalan High School only

For Evening Kick Offs - Currently at Bessemer Rd Market Only (including tonight's game v Palace).

At a recent meeting between Cardiff City Football Club and South Wales Police the illegal parking of vehicles around Leckwith Rd by fans was highlighted and discussed.

Work is about to begin on (section 278) road improvement works in relation to the new stadium & South Wales Police have indicated to us that they will vigorously enforce traffic and parking regulations on Match & non - Matchdays throughout the locality.

As such SW Police will deploy a traffic / auto crime teams to deal with issues with immediate effect.

Any illegal parking on match days can result in fixed penalties being issued with consideration also being given to towing vehicles away.

We do not want our fans facing these penalties and this letter is for information for the driver of the vehicle advising you of the possible consequences should your vehicle be illegally parked.

We understand that many of our supporters will have to find a new route to the stadium and hope that they understand that any difficulties are as a direct result of the new stadium construction.
