DAVE'S VIEW: DONS
Following Cardiff's win over MK Dons, Dave Jones spoke to the press:
"It was difficult because I can't remember in my time as a manager or even a coach having to make three substitutions before 45-minutes was up. But the people who came on did superb, it was a difficult game.
"We could have won by more and made it easier for ourselves but on that 15-minute marker again we gave a sloppy goal away. There's no danger but a lack of communication. Out of the back five four of them are new, that includes Darren Purse because he didn't play last year, plus the full backs and the 'keeper. So they are bedding in and they need to get to know each other, start talking to each other and communicating.
"It was difficult tonight because they are a decent side and to lose the players we lost so early on with the substitutions, the other four on the bench went and had a shower by half-time and I've not seen that before.
"With Tony Capaldi, it wasn't his knee, which is good, he just felt a numbness in his leg and he couldn't feel his foot at all. That tells you he's probably trapped a nerve in his back.
"Darcy was on his way to pulling his ham-string so we got him off. And Ricky will have an x-ray tomorrow and hopefully it's tissue damage and not bone damage.
"We all know Whittingham can score goals like that, there's parts of his game that he's got to improve on and he is trying to do that. The boy has a quality that means he should be in the Premiership but there's parts of his game that stops him from doing that."
