DAVE VIEW: CLARETS
Match reaction from City manager Dave Jones on his sides 2-1 win over Burnley.
"We shouldn't have drawn the last two away games and we know that. At this level of football things like that in the set play can't happen.
"The lesson today was to keep a clean sheet and we didn't do that, so you can say that we didn't learn a lesson.
"But it was a battling performance, in the second half when he made his changes and put all the big guns, six foot plus's on and you know what's going to happen. They were going to bombard our box with high balls. So I think we dealt with it quite well.
"We got the ball down to play and Joe (Ledley) could have walked away today with the ball because he was absolutely outstanding.
"Why we keep giving teams hope at 2-1 I don't know, we just need to kill it off.
"The second half was more of a battling display, which I feel we totally dominated.
"I thought Joe was outstanding today, I said to the chairman that he should give him a new contract every week if that is the performance you get from him. There were a lot of good performances today but for me Joe typified everything about us as a football club. Not just the quality, grit, determination and the will to drive through the pain barrier because it was quite a physical match today and there's quite a few knocks and bumps."
