DAVE'S VIEW: ORIENT
Cardiff manager Dave Jones gave his reaction to his sides 1-0 cup win over Leyton Orient.
"It was very one sided, full credit to Orient, their 'keeper was outstanding. We just had to keep plugging away. How the ball didn't go in the back of the net sooner than it did I don't know.
"That's four games here and if we tally up the number of chances we've had in those games then it must be up there with a season's worth.
"The front two, I didn't think they'd get 90-minutes today, I thought they'd get 60-minutes top. Full credit to them, I brought Robbie off at the death because he just felt his groin a little bit. Now it's just about recovery for them. Certainly in the early parts of the game with their runs, they are top players. The runs they make can only benefit the team and benefit the players at this football club.
"Darren Purse fell awkward, he felt something tweak at the back of the knee. Perhaps it's the ligament that's rolled over the bone or something so we'll see if that swells up tonight.
"We are not that far away, it will come. Credit to the fans, I think they realised that we just needed to keep plugging away.
"Credit to their 'keeper, in the first half the number of saves and he's cut out a number of chances.
"They are a good side and they didn't set up to defend, they set up to have a go. Once we got on top they couldn't get out.
"If we keep plugging away the goals will come because there are too many players here with scoring records for it not to come."
