Chelsea stumble as Cardiff U-18's pick up good point in West London.

Cardiff U-18's finish the 07/08 league with a result and performance that perhaps foreshadows a promising season next year.

The Bluebirds stunned the illustrious home side when they took the lead with only six minutes played. Strong defender Kye Edwards finishing off a good passage of play for Cardiff.

However, a silly mistake gifted Chelsea an equaliser and were then behind not too long after. Cardiff heads did not drop however and they got back into the game when Aaron Widig was felled in the area resulting in a penalty. Midfielder Zak Evans confidently coverted the spot kick and the the scores were even.

Cardiff created further chances during the second half but none could be converted and the Bluebirds had to settle for a point. A brlliant result though for Cardiff who now look to end on a high and add the FAW Youth Cup to the club's accomplishments.

Coach's Comments: Cardiff Academy Manager Neal Ardley
"An excellent point for the lads, but we felt we could have won the game. A silly mistake cost us a goal and we had chances to win the game in the second half. Thoroughly pleased with the point though."
