REPORT: BIRMINGHAM 1-2 CARDIFF U18S
Cardiff U-18's produced a fantastic performance to defeat Birmingham City U-18's 2-1 away from home.
After a recent run of defeats and poor performances, this game provided an excellent boost of confidence for the team and coaches. Coach Geraint Twose and Academy Manager Neal Ardley changed the formation of the Cardiff team for the game and the team reaped the rewards. The first Cardiff goal came from striker Tyrell Webbe who finished off neatly an excellent move obviously worked on in training. The second Bluebirds goal came from the penalty spot and Jack Carlisle was the man to step up and score. The penalty had been the result of a great passage of play from Cardiff and the Bluebirds were the better team throughout the entire 90 minutes.
Cardiff U-18 Coach Geraint Twose:
"The boys were excellent today. We fully deserved to win and the quality of both goals was really pleasing for me and Neal (Ardley). We had changed the system for the game and the boys took on board all of what we had to say in training. They applied it well in the match and the players took to their responsibilities well."
The U16s won 3-0. We're not allowed to disclose the names of the scorers.
